Giving Back
As part of our strategic planning process, A.C.T. Metal Deck Supply volunteers their time and talents to contribute to the communities it serves, not only by donations and sponsorships but by a hands-on, team approach to making a difference.
Northern Illinois Food Bank
We started during the coronavirus pandemic volunteering our time and talents for an issue in our own backyards and throughout the U.S., hunger, and we haven’t stopped because it’s so important to our company.
Â
Since our first event in 2020, we have packed 3,108 pounds of food to help provide 2,590 meals for our hungry neighbors of Northern Illinois.
Â
We’re so proud of our team and their commitment to give back to those who need assistance right in our own backyards. It’s a great way to spend the evening team building, lots of laughter, and hard work.Â
Due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, more than 42 million people may experience food insecurity, including a potential of 13 million children in the United States. Every community in the country is home to families who face hunger including rural and suburban communities.
If you would like to volunteer at your local food bank or make a donation, visit the Feeding America website at https://www.feedingamerica.org/ to see how you can give back to your neighbors and community.
Fight for Air Climb
As a family-owned and close-knit business, when one of our employees died of a long battle with lung cancer, we decided to turn our grief into something to benefit our local community and raise awareness for lung cancer by participating in the Fight For Air Climb. For this reason, Team Todd was created.
Â
Todd was an amazing man and we all loved working with him. Determined to honor his memory we invited all employees, family, and friends, as well as Todd’s family to join our team.
Participants climbed the stairs of Oakbrook Tower, Oakbrook Terrace, IL – a “vertical road race’ of 31 floors and 680 steps. In the five years from 2015 – 2019, Team Todd raised over $53,000 to honor our co-worker and friend which supports research, educational programs and advocacy efforts for clean air and healthy lungs.
